Prayer that Avails Much

I first heard the prayer of Faith will heal the sick. I knew that was in James, but as I began to turn to James, the Lord stopped me in the following order. He first reminded me of the scripture we pray daily on the wall, Psalm 103, and I turned to it and wrote in my journal: Don’t forget all my benefits! I forgive ALL your iniquities! I heal ALL your diseases! I redeem your life from destruction! I crown you with loving kindness and tender mercies! I satisfy your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Then, I heard from Isaiah 53, another scripture we pray daily: I bore your griefs and carried your sorrows! I was wounded for your transgressions! I was bruised for your iniquities! The chastisement of your peace was upon Me! And by My stripes, You are healed! I then heard, For by grace, you are saved through Faith (Eph. 2:8)…and…Without Faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is (Hebrews 11:6).

For by Grace (unmerited, undeserved Favor) we are saved through Faith (the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1), not of works, lest any man should boast…and (Hebrews 11:6a) Without that Faith (the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen), it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe (have that Faith) that He is…

Effectual prayer is prayer of Faith! We must pray according to God’s Word. We must not regard iniquity in our heart – that includes unforgiveness, pride, contention, etc. For if we do, He says He can’t hear us. If we pray according to His Word, He hears us. He says, He forgives us our trespasses, as we forgive others who trespass against us. Is being angry or disappointed or critical of our brother in Christ worth our God not hearing our prayer. I, for one decided, it is not worth it. God has forgiven me. He’s buried all my past under the sea not to look at again. When the devil brings it up, I lift up the Word – the blood of Jesus – my shield of Faith! The Lord has told me to forgive as I’ve been forgiven..to freely give what I’ve been freely given.

Let’s all fix our minds on Christ! It is not about us! It’s about Him! I can’t be good enough to pray! The Word is Good! Jesus is the Word! The Way! The Life! Since I abide in Him, and He abides in me, I ask whatever I will, and it will be done for me. Not my will but His will! I align myself with Him! Your will God – come! You Kingdom Come! Here in earth…in me…in my tent…today and forever!
